Donald E. Starkey was born in Ohio as World War II ended. He’s a retired National Park Service Law Enforcement Ranger. His career shaped everything he writes. After retirement, he and his loving wife volunteered as campground hosts across parks and forest service locations. They’re lifelong nature enthusiasts. The wilderness became their second home. Starkey began writing years ago but paused when life demanded attention elsewhere. Now he’s back with purpose. His stories draw from real experiences his own and those he witnessed. The wildlife encounters? They happened exactly as written. In 2025, he debuts The Law Enforcement Ranger, blending authentic ranger knowledge with compelling human drama. Every page reflects decades spent protecting America’s wild places.
